Yellowstone!

We enjoyed a few days in Yellowstone National Park with my Dad and his wife, Linda.  They live in Missouri so we don't get to see them very often, and this time it was just us and them spending time together.  What a great time we had!


Our very first morning there were two moose (what is the plural for moose?  Surely not mooses and surely not meese, like geese..... I dunno.) in our camp.  They were there for several hours and let us human folk get very close.  Super neat!

 We saw lots of other animals; lots of buffalo crossing the road, cow elks, deer, squirrels but the moose was the neatest by far.

 

 We really enjoyed riding our bikes around camp.  For some reason I have fears associated with riding a bike..... I ended up doing just fine at camp.  :)

 We got pelted by a brief downpour of rain our first day.  Neil and I braved the puddles to see this gurgling mud pot that was about 10 steps from the car.  Needless to say even with the umbrella we were pretty wet for how short of time we were in the rain.  

 This is such a BEAUTIFUL place!

 Looking out across the land it was really interesting to see steam floating up from so many places.

One of our favorite things we saw were these steamy hot pools that bubbled up and flowed into the river.  Pretty amazing.

 It was quite a sensation to feel the steamy heat then a cool breeze followed again by super heat.

 The bright colors are so vivid!

 

This geyser behind us goes almost constantly, just keeps going and going.

 

  The Yellowstone Canyon and Falls were amazing!

 

 Zoey walked most of the way everywhere we went.  She was such a trooper.  And super cheesy of course.

 Neil is such a great daddy and made it really fun for this little girl. 

 Zoey is upset here because we're holding onto her.  She wanted to climb on the rocks overlooking the waterfall.....

 This one was the Dragon Lair (or something like that).  Instead of the water coming out above the ground it came out the side of this cave and the water would gush out and make a grunting noise.  So with the steam and grunting it was like there really was a dragon in there.  

 Sleepy girl with her flowers up on daddy's shoulders.  She was obsessed with picking a flower everywhere we stopped.

We had such an enjoyable time.  Lots of interesting and beautiful things to see!
