Paisley Jennifer

She's here!  At 7 pounds and 19 1/2 inches long with a little bit of dark hair.

Paisley Jennifer Peterson.  Her name is very meaningful and significant to us.  Let me say also that we did not know what we were going to name her when she was born.  It took over an hour of deliberating afterwards for us to decide.  I love what we came up with.

Paisley
The inspiration for Neil's name came from a family name, Niels, but his parents changed the spelling and used the same spelling as Neil Diamond.  He always told me he was named after Neil Diamond.  Now, there are lots of reasons we decided on Paisley for our little girl but the most prominent is because we wanted to name her after Brad Paisley.

His music has always spoken to us and been an integral part of our relationship particularly in our early dating.  I won't go into any more depth other than to say his songs mean a lot to us probably for reasons only the two of us understand.  So for us, the name Paisley holds enormous meaning, not just that we named our kid after him because he's our favorite artist. It's much more than that.

Jennifer
We feel it's important to give a child a middle name after a significant person in our life.  What a task because we feel our lives are filled with significant women whose name would bring great meaning to our daughter.  My sister is one such person.  She has been ever loving and supportive.  To us she has been a true friend, a perfect big sister, and someone with real life experience we can turn to for practical advice as we grow our little family.  Jenni was particularly accepting of my relationship with Neil when we first started dating. Since having been married we have had the blessing of living within just a few minutes of Jenni and her family.
