Zoey's Throw Up Saga

Vomit. Throw Up. Puke. Barf. Spew. Upchuck. Lose your cookies. Whatever you want to call it, Zoey has been doing for 8 weeks, along with several other unpleasant side affects.

It's random. Not linked to any particular food item that we can tell at this point. She's lost at least 2 pounds in that time. She has thrown up 47 times in 56 days (8 weeks).

Blood tests and urine test all came back normal. She's been on two different types of medication for acid reflux.

Upper GI scan at Primary Children's was normal. That's were they have you drink a special drink and they X-ray your esophagus, stomach and small intestine. (That experience was actually traumatizing. Zoey wouldn't drink the nasty barium so they put a tube in her nose down to her stomach.... It made ME cry. The staff and hospital were amazing but it was still traumatizing.)

Now what, you ask??? We'll try some new medication and see how she does.

We're getting pretty good at catching vomit in strategically placed tupperwares throughout the house. And I've quoted the line from Wayne's World several times, "if you're gonna spew, spew in this."

Really though, it is a very sad and heart-wrenching thing to watch Zoey go through this. It's a real struggle and fills our days with lots of ups and downs. We are praying for answers.
