We love our truck! Finally!

As some of you may know our truck hasn't been running up to par this entire summer. It has been a very long ordeal and I will try to shorten it down to explain.

Initial problem - massive oil leak, the truck was undrivable. We pretty much drove Brian's truck for a month straight - thanks Brian!

Neil spent about 24 hours to fix oil leak. (actually had to do it twice)


Fixed oil leak but the truck ran like absolute junk. New problem - we joked about putting a hitch on the Miata to pull the trailers because it would be able to out-tow the truck. The truck drove alright, but boy did it take a long time to get anywhere even if you were pulling an empty trailer.

Neil and Brian spent probably about the equivalent of two entire full days working on the truck trying to get it to run right. They thought that the timing of the truck got off when they put the injector pump back together.

Attempt after attempt the truck still ran like junk.

Now at this point some of us asked, why don't we just take it to the professionals? Because they would do the same thing Neil and Brian were doing and charge us a boatload of money.

More research - they have a fancy machine that can test the timing = expensive!

Finally Neil finds a place that could do it for about $200 bucks; which in comparison to what we had been finding before is a great deal! Took it down to Industrial Injection Diesel Performance.

The verdict - the timing of the truck was perfect. They didn't know what was wrong with the truck and they charged us less than $100.

Discouraged and mad at that darn truck Neil went to pick it up. As he drove out of the parking lot he thought it felt a little different.... So he punched it and the truck took off like a banshee!

Something that they did while working on it accidentally fixed it and it runs better than it EVER has! We spent the rest of the night driving it around reveling in the opportunity stop lights gave us to punch it when it turned green. We loved driving under the freeway or next to a brick fence with the windows down so we could listen to the engine roar.

Our truck is a tool more than anything else and allows us to accomplish so much. It is a relief and blessing of huge proportions to have our truck running so great!
